The development of entrepreneurship is an important field today, which governments, by devising appropriate policies, planning and implementation of programs, attempt to achieve.
Although depending on its particular circumstances, each country has its own special goals with respect to entrepreneurship development that are in the interests of that country, by and large countries follow similar patterns. Among the most important goals are a rise in employment, economic development, an increase in competition, market expansion, greater innovation, technological development, rise in exports, regional development, reducing the monopoly of large corporations, decentralization, and an increase in the share of the private sector in the economy.
The purpose of this article is the delineation of these goals and the introduction of some standard difficulties faced by entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises by relating the concepts "entrepreneurship and small businesses."
