FROM EXTENSION OF SCIENCE TO PRODUCTION OF WEALTH THROUGH KNOWLEDGE

Although the stable development of any country is defined on the basis of its particular abilities, the major common factor of development in all countries is basically science. Nowadays, the developed countries follow science-based economy. Fortunately, in our country the development is considered on the basis of science, too. As stated in this paper, in order to realize the stable and knowledge-based development, it seems necessary to accomplish four steps: a) Development of science, b) Creating science, c) Applying the scientometric indicators, and D) Production of techniques and technology. There are suitable agendas for the first three steps in our country, but unfortunately no appropriate program has been reported for the latest one, yet. The main goal of this Paper is to demonstrate the vital need for an appropriate program for future technological research in Iran. Having a suitable program for this crucial area, we can guarantee a brighter future for the nation.
