Power Comparison the T2 Control Chart and the simultaneous Shewhart Charts

When p correlated quality characteristics are being masured simultaneously in a quality control process, the sample can be contains the individual or group vectors of observations, in this case, multivariate quality control methods are used which one of them is Hotellingʹs T2 statistic. But if every quality characteristic is considered separately, the simultaneous shewhart control chart will be used. In this paper, a review of these two methods is given. Besides, by some examples with applying the real and simulated data two procedures are compared and it will be shown that the T2 chart not only has he better power but also takes the correlation among the variables into account.
