Experimental investigation of enhanced Tubes in shell and tube heat exchangers

This paper discusses the influence of finned tubes on the operational parameters of a shell and tube heat exchanger. For fulfillment of this purpose, the heat exchanger parameters including, overall heat transfer coefficient, Nusselt and Euler Numbers and the total pressure drop in terms of the Reynolds number of the shell side has been investigated. The results reveal noticeable enhancement of heat transfer coefficient of the heat exchanger. Additionally, dimensionless numbers of the flow for various conditions have been calculated and some experimental correlations for Nusslet and Euler numbers derived in the form of power function.
