Modification of Consumption Pattern within the Armed Forces and its Implications on National Security

Consumption pattern is one of the factors which has a direct effect on efficiency and productivity of armed forces. The optimal pattern in this regard is the one that utilizes the existing resources to the maximum extent. After reviewing the current situation in the country in terms of utilization of the resources, this paper illustrates why and how to modify the pattern of consumption. The relevant pattern of the Iranian armed forces is discussed afterwards and then the nature of this modification is scrutinized. Since any discussion in this regard without paying due attention to the issue of national security would be an incomplete one, this issue is also discussed in the paper and finally after experiment of a hypothesis on the relationship between these two factors, some suggestions are provided in conclusion.
