Saudi Arabiaʹs Regional Policy and the I.R.I National Security

Protecting the countryʹs national security against the external threats and the internal vulnerabilities constitutes the main priority of all countries including the Islamic Republic of Iran. The major regional actors specially the Saudi Arabia enjoy high level capacities for affecting the countryʹs national security, and their policies in the Middle East can engender different security threats in different forms. These effects may include different components of the Islamic Republic regime like territorial integrity, foreign policy, economic conditions, and regional and global diplomacy. The adoption of any line of policy on the part of the Islamic republic of Iran to decrease the security threats coming from Saudi Arabia requires a two-facet approach: decreasing the tensions and conflicts of the two countries, and maintaining the regional power of Iran.
