Designing the Strategic Model of the Logistics of Asymmetric Warfare

Although the concept of asymmetric warfare has very recently entered the strategic military literature of the world, specially of the Western world, the history of wars indicates that the concept of asymmetric warfare is rooted in the old literature on defense. This research is meant to explain the designing of a logistic and strategic model of asymmetric warfare which covers the entire activities related to the flow of goods and materials conversion from the phase of providing the raw material to that of delivering the final goods to the final consumer. The main hypothesis in this research is that under asymmetric conditions and recurring threats, the logistic model of warfare is a mix of pure, virtual, integrated, and agile logistic systems. This research is descriptive- analytical in terms of aim achievement, and applied in terms of orientation; and has been carried out with survey method in terms of strategy. The explanation of relations between the main variables of research and the factors effective on each variable has been addressed through factor analysis method and the analysis of structural equations. The results show that the strategic model of warfare is a mix of pure, virtual, integrated, and agile logistic systems in asymmetric conditions and recurring threats, and an integrated logistic system can not be used.
