Critical Success Factors in Implementation of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in Iranʹs Oil and Gas Industries

Use of modern management systems in industries and organizations is growing quickly. Information and communication technology as an advanced technology plays important roles in this process. Computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), by using information and communication technology in automation of maintenance management, in addition to increased efficiency of maintenance operations in asset management, may make optimum utilization of resources like human resources, spare parts, capital and financial resources... Despite the many advantages of these systems, their implementation is faced with many problems and in many cases is doomed to failure. This paper reviews factors effective in successful implementation of CMMS systems in the oil and gas industries in Iran.
