ABSTRACT- The main purpose of present study is to implement the internal evaluation (assessment) on the members of Mechanical Engineering Department of Qazvin Islamic Azad University. Attempt will be made to provide a comprehensive analysis of the existing groupsʹ quality and offering suggestions for improving and upgrading the assessment. In this regard, the sample population, including faculty members, department heads, and students took part in the evaluation and data were collected and statistical analysis was conducted. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for analyzing the data. For the descriptive statistics the central tendency measures such as mean and dispersion measures such as standard deviation, skew-ness, minimum and maximum are used and in the analysis of research questions one-way variance analysis test (ONE-WAY ANOWA) is used.
The result of internal evaluation shows that there exists a relation between quality education and setting standards and criteria, and between faculty membersʹ participation in setting standards and improving the quality of related groups standards. Although students experienced minor relationships than department head and faculty members, there is a relation between internal assessment and increasing accountability towards the performance of department managers and faculty members. Finally, the internal evaluation has impact on realizing the strengths and weaknesses of training groups. Therefore, some recommendations for each group were presented in order to enable them to employ strategic planning to compensate for weaknesses and promote quality of their group and ultimately Mechanical Engineering Department of Qazvin Islamic Azad University.
