Ranking Rural Regions of Fars Province Based on the Development Criterion Using Fuzzy Approach

This study aims at ranking Fars Province rural regions based on the development criterion. The applied sets of indices are demographic, sanitation and health, communication, education, public and recreational facilities, and economical and welfare indices. Each group contains detailed indices. The dataset comes from Fars province 1385 census. The highest difference belongs to economical and welfare indices accounting for 37 percent of combined development index. In the case of demographic and education indices there also was many differences among rural regions, accounting for more than 36 percent of combined development index. However, in terms of sanitation and health, communication and public and recreational facilities indices a little difference was found among the regions.
