Familiarity and use of Web 2.0 tools among librarians working at Hamedan academic libraries

This research aims to study the familiarity and use of Web 2.0 tools among the librarians working at Hamedan academic Libraries. The present survey was carried out using a descriptive approach. The statistical population of the survey included librarians of academic and college libraries located in Hamedan (47 persons). A researcher-made questionnaire based on relevant literature and researchersʹ observations of web 2.0 tools was utilized. Results showed that the familiarity rate of librarians with the capabilities of Web 2.0 is at a moderate level (44.6), and their usage rate of these tools is low and intermediate (42.6). It was also found that librarians had much ability in using email and blogs and had less ability in using Flickr.
