Intelligence and Organizational Citizenship Behavior in Librarians of Public Libraries the (Case of Yazd Public Libraries)

Many classic organizational theorists recognized the linkage between employeesʹ acts of cooperation or going beyond formal role requirements and organizational effectiveness. Organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB) in the aggregate promote the effective functioning of the organization. Numerous studies in the business literature have been conducted on the antecedents of organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). The reason for this popularity is the positive relationships between OCB and both individual and organizational performance. This research investigates the relationships of emotional intelligence and organizational citizenship behavior. Yazd public libraries and their librarians are the target society of this research. Findings show emotional intelligence is an important antecedent for organizational citizenship behavior.
