Study of General and Academic Self-efficacy of Students and its Relationship with Academic Achievement

The main purpose of the present study is to examine the general and academic self-efficacy of high school students in Bandar Abbas city and its relationship with academic achievement. The research made questionnaires have been used to collect data on general self efficacy and academic self- efficacy. Academic function scores of students in this study are equal to the average of first semester exams. The research population includes all first year students of high schools in the city of Bandar Abbas in academic years of 1387-1388. Participants were selected by cluster sampling. Research findings have shown that girlsʹ general self-efficacy was significantly more than boys. But the study failed to find statistically significant differences between gender in academic self- efficacy. Results also show a positive and significant correlation between public efficacy and academic efficacy with academic function.
