The main pourpose of this study was to determine the relationship between types of organizational culture with leadership at Iranian State universities based on the faculty membersʹ perceptions. Four research questions examined the relationship between four types of culture (developmentalʹ hierachical group and rational cultures) with component of leadership. A descriptive-correlation research method was employed. The statistical population included all faculty members during 2005-06 academic year from which a sample size of 284 randomly was selected through a cluster and multi- stage sampling method. The data gathering tools included two researcher-made questionnaires based on likerts five degree scale. The organizational culture questionnaire consisted of 42 items and the leadership 30items ʹand their reliability coefficients were estimated 0.93 and 0.91respectivity. The results of regression analysis indicated a positive significant relationship between group culture, hierachical cultures and rational culture with the component relationship.
