Iranian Culture and Identity After Postmodernism

The approach of post-postmodernism is in essence the result of a viewpoint founded on the confrontation between the mind and heart or rather subject and object. This approach has been discussed in the domain of philosophy of science by thinkers such as Richard Rorty, Roger Trigg, Ian Craib, Brian Fay and others. It somehow contradicts modernism and postmodernism and attempts to transform the resultant contrast into compliance and compatibility through logic and knowledge. In other words, the epistemological spectrum of post-postmodernism attaches credence to a constant perceptive dialogue between modernism and postmodernism. This spectrum neither tolerates the absolute truth as envisioned by modernism nor the particular relativity of postmodernism. What it actually underscores is a combination of activism and structuralism. This study first presents realities of the culture of identity in contemporary times. It then examines developments linked to globalization and their current effects. In light of such globalization in theoretical considerations, especially in the domain of new epistemology that has come to the fore, a new sustainable doctrine related to philosophy of science has emerged, which we have named post-postmodernism. In this research, all references to Iranian culture and identity in the era of post-postmodernism imply the status quo and conditions that resulted in the aftermath of globalization. The main goal of this study is to present an ideal image of Iranian identity based on developments in theoretical and epistemological fields.
