Assessment of Belief in Prayers and Determination of Related Social Factors

This study is aimed at assessing the level of belief of university students in prayers and examining the positive viewpoint of Islamic Azad Universityʹs students about reciting prayers in view of its various dimensions. In tandem with this policy, at first the concept of belief in and perception of prayers is defined and related parameters are extracted from existing texts and research projects and compiled within the framework of a few postulates. The research method in this study is by conducting a survey. The method for compiling information is a questionnaire devised by the researcher. The statistical sample consists of 2,243 students of Islamic Azad University at the levels of associate diploma, undergraduate and masterʹs degree who were selected by using the method of classified sampling. Results show that independent parameters determine about 57 percent of changes in attitude toward prayers. Among independent parameters, three parameters of belief in prayers, being a humanities student and being an undergraduate student have meaningful impacts on the attitude of students in relation to prayers.
