Persian Gulf Security and Strategic Place of Iran

There is no doubt that Persian Gulf has so specific geopolitical and geoeconomical advantages that it will become a core for competition among superpowers in the international scene while a tension and violence is formed resulting to a crises and insecurity so that serious reaction will be followed by countries which their economic and political interests tied to energy reserves and its exports. Consequently, one of the most significant priorities for power systems in the 21st would base on the establishment of security, stability and its continuation in future for the Persian Gulf. Definitely, here, if countries of the region could reach on consensus and cooperation in the field of security and stability, they will take and benefit from its advantages so in the next decades they will move on to increase their national interests and their international authority given to their resources and their felicities. So , because of dependence of economics of Industrial countries to the production and distribution of oil and gas and also these two has focused more than 70 percent on the Persian Gulf, hence, the superpowers and in front of them US will not release the region while it has such a vital resource. Obviously, if the states of the region could not be able to secure the processes of production and exporting of energy reserves in the Persian Gulf, the security, definitely, will be imposed from the outside and causing to loose national interests of them. Also, US and its coalitionʹs expedition in the first decade of 1990 are justified in such the way. The author of the project tries to answer perfectly to such a question if countries of the Persian Gulf region can be able to reach upon a common comprehension regarding to their economic and political power and capacity for helping to achieve global security and keep stability and non- violence in the Persian Gulf without depending on intra regional powers? Other objects of this project would be studying and analyzing the present condition considering Iranian strategic position, studying scenarios and approaches for the development of regional cooperation among Persian Gulf countries in the field of economic, political, environmental, cultural, tourist and military aspects and finding a way theoretically for reducing tensions considering the need of the world to the security in Persian Gulf.
