The Opening line of Shāhnāme as the Prime Mover of Persian Mathnavis

فردوسي نخستين شاعري است كه با اثرپذيري از آغاز قرآن و اوستا، مثنوي خود را با نام خدا آغاز كرده و همين شيوه را در بيشتر نامه‌هايي كه شاهان و پهلوانان فرهمند شاهنامه نگاشته‌اند، دنبال كرده‌‌است. نمونه‌هاي برجاي‌مانده از شاعران پيش از وي و سروده‌هاي معاصرانش، اين مهم را ثابت مي‌كند و از اين رهگذر، تاثير ساخت و محتواي بيت آغازين شاهنامه را بر سروده‌هاي متاخران مي‌توان ديد. در اين پژوهش، بيتِ سرآغاز شاهنامه، نخست در سطح زباني (قالب شعري، وزن، قافيه، كاركرد واج‌ها و هجاها، دوگانگي واژه‌ها و مفاهيم، و...)، دوم در گستره فكري شاعر (مثلث «نام و جان و خرد» و برخي از خاستگاه‌هاي انديشه او) و سوم در سطح ادبي (ارزش‌هاي بلاغي، شيوه عظمت‌نمايي، براعت استهلال، و ...) بررسي مي‌شود. در پايان، خوانندگان مي‌توانند با مشاهده بيت آغازين هفده مثنوي برجسته فارسي، سرآمدي بيت آغازين شاهنامه را ارزيابي كنند.

Ferdowsi is the first Persian poet who under the influence of The Holy Quran and Avista has started his mathnavi with the name of God, and has followed the same pattern in most of the stories narrated by the charismatic kings and heroes of Sh?hn?me. The influence, both in structure and content, can be seen in the poems written after Sh?hn?me. This article performs a triple task concerning this opening line: first it examines its linguistic aspects (verse-form, meter, rhyme, phonological and syllabic functions, ambiguity of words and concepts, identical-word deletion, specific function of the verb bargozashtan (to go beyond); second, it focuses on the relation between the opening line and the poet’s way of thinking, (the triangle Name-Soul-Wisdom, as well as some of his thinking origins); third, it describes the literary function of the line (rhetorical values, foregrounding, diathesis, antinomy of some references concerning one pronoun, snobbery). Finally the opening lines of seventeen mathnavis are presented in order to show that among all, Sh?hn?me’s opening verse occupies the highest position.
