“Some Other Place”: A Story by Goli Tarraghi and an Archetype

تصاوير كهن‌الگويي ميراث ناخودآگاه فردي و جمعي انسان در طول تاريخ است كه در ادبيات از طريق ذهن خلاق و حساس هنرمندان به فعليت مي رسد. اين مقاله بر آن است كه رمان جايي ديگر اثر گلي ترقي را برمبناي نظريات يونگ بررسي كند. در اين پژوهش، كهن‌الگوهاي خود، آنيما و آنيموس، سفر، پير خردمند، نقاب، سايه و سرانجام فرايند فرديت و تولد دوباره در داستان تحليل مي شود و مشخص مي گردد كه پيرنگ و نقش شخصيت‌هاي داستان بر پايه نظريات يونگ قابل بررسي است. «جايي ديگر» خود كهن‌الگوي ديگري است كه ترقي داستان را با آن روايت مي كند و كهن‌الگوي مهم رمان محسوب مي شود، به اين معنا كه جاي ديگري در روان انسان است كه شخص بايد طي فرايندي دروني از طريق تولد دوباره به آن دست يابد.

The archetypal images are products of man’s collective unconscious that are actualized by the creativity and sensitivity of the artists. The present article intends to give a Jungian analysis of “Some Other Place” by Goli Tarraghi because the writer herself has spoken about the significant role of archetypes in her stories. The research, through investigating the archetypes such as ego, anima, animus, journey, wise old man, persona, shadow, individuation process, and rebirth, proves that the plot and character functions of the story give it a capacity for a Jungian reading in which the very “some other place” of the story can be considered as an archetype. In fact, as one is needed to get to this place through an internal journey and a rebirth, it is called “some other place”.
