ساسان خُوَداي؛ چهره‌اي تاريخي يا افسانه‌اي؟

Sāsān Xwadāy: A Historical or Legendary Character?

بيشتر پژوهندگان تاريخ دوره ساسانيان در دهه‌هاي گذشته، همداستان با شماري از بزرگ‌ترين تاريخ‌نويسان دوره اسلامي كه در گزارش تاريخ ساسانيان، محتواي خداينامه تاريخ ملّي ايرانيان باستان را بازتاب مي‌دهند، پذيرفته‌اند كه ساسان، نگهبان آتشكده آناهيتا در اصطخر فارس، پدر بابك و نياي اردشير يكم (240 ـ 224م.)، بنيان‌گذار شاهنشاهي ساساني بوده است. از سوي ديگر، شاپور يكم (270 ـ 240م.) در سنگ‌نوشته كعبه زردشت، بابك را پدر اردشير و نياي خود مي‌خواند و در آنجا در آوردن نام ساسان به روشني از نسبت او در تبارنامه دودمان خويش، سخن به ميان نمي‌آيد. از اين‌رو، پاره‌اي از پژوهندگان با كنجكاوي‌ها و حتي خيالبافي‌هاي گوناگون كوشيده‌اند كه به عقيده خود، هويّت واقعي ساسان را نشان دهند. اين پژوهش بر آن است كه با تجزيه و تحليل ساختار و الگوي نوشتاري سنگ‌نوشته‌هاي ساسانيان و مطالعه مهم‌ترين گزارش‌هاي تاريخي درباره پيوند خويشاوندي نخستين هموندان دودمان حكومتي ساساني، به اين پرسش پاسخ دهد كه ساسان چهره‌اي تاريخي بوده است، يا افسانه‌اي و حتي ايزدي؟ دستاورد اين پژوهش نشان مي‌دهد كه ساسان خُوَداي، نه يك ايزدِ كهن، و يا چهره‌اي افسانه‌اي، بلكه چهره‌اي كاملاً تاريخي ـ پدر بابك و نياي اردشير يكم ـ بوده است.

In the last decades, most scholars who studied the history of Iran in the S?s?nian period, like some of the greatest historians in Islamic times who reflected the content of Xwd?y-N?mag (the national history of ancient Iranians) in recording S?s?nian history, have accepted that S?s?n was the priest of ?n?hit? Fire-Temple in Estaxr, B?bak’s father and Arda??r’s grandfather who was the founder of S?s?nian empire. Furthermore, ??pour’s Ka’be-ye Zardo?t inscription, in which B?bak was called Arda??r’s father and ??pour’s grandfather, did not clearly mention that S?s?n was B?bak’s father and Arda??r’s grandfather, so some scholars have curiously and even fancifully tried to show the real identity of S?s?n with their own ideas and conceptions. Therefore, by analyzing the structure and the written pattern of S?s?nian’s inscriptions and with studying the most important historical accounts concerning the kin relationship between the first members of the S?s?nian royal house, this research tries to answer this question, whether S?s?n was a historical or a legendary character or even a god? This research reveals that S?s?n was neither an ancient god nor a legendary character; in fact, he was a historical character—B?bak’s father and Arda??r’s grandfather
