بررسي سازگاري دستورالعمل‏هاي ثبت ويژگي‏هاي موجوديت‏هاي گروه اول و دوم اف.آر.بي.آر. در آر.دي.اي. با طرح فراداده‏اي توصيف شي (MODS)

Mapping Resource Description and Access (RDA) instruction rules for recording of attributes of the first and second groups of FRBR entities to MODS

هدف: پژوهش حاضر سازگاري دستورالعمل‏هاي توصيف و دسترسي به منبع(RDA) مربوط به ثبت ويژگي‏هاي موجوديت‏هاي گروه اول و دوم الگوي ملزومات كاركردي پيشينه‏هاي كتابشناختي(FRBR)، با طرح فراداده‏اي توصيف شي (MODS)را بررسي نموده است. روش: جامعه پژوهش شامل دو بخش است: الف- عناصر اصلي، فرعي و ويژگي‏هاي طرح فراداده‏اي توصيف شي (مودس)؛ و ب- دستورالعمل‏هاي توصيف و دسترسي به منبع ( ثبت ويژگي‏هاي موجوديت‏هاي گروه اول و دوم اف.آر.بي.آر. در آر.دي.اي.). از روش تطبيقي براي بررسي سازگار كردن دستورالعمل‏هاي مذكور با عناصر مختلف طرح مودس استفاده شد و به ارايه برچسب‏هاي مبتني بر زبان نشانه‏گذاري گسترش‏‏پذير(ايكس.ام.ال.) براي ارايه اطلاعات توصيفي منابع مختلف بر اساس دستورالعمل‏هاي آر.دي.اي. منجر شد. متناسب با دستورالعمل‏هاي فصل‏هاي 2 تا11 تعداد 440 تركيب از عناصر اصلي، فرعي و ويژگي‏هاي طرح فراداده‏اي توصيف شي ارايه شد كه در مجموع از تعداد 296 عنصر اصلي اين طرح فراداده‏اي استفاده شد. از بين 20 عنصر اصلي طرح مودس، 16 عنصر با توجه به محتواي دستورالعمل‏هاي فصل‏هاي مبتني بر ثبت ويژگي هاي موجوديت‏هاي گروه‏هاي اول و دوم اف.آر.بي.آر. كه تاكنون كامل شده است، در اين سازگاري مورد استفاده قرار گرفته است يافته‏ها: ميان دستورالعمل‏هاي آر. دي. اي. و طرح مودس، سازگاري كامل وجود دارد و مي‏توان تمامي اطلاعات منبع مورد توصيف با استفاده از دستورالعمل‏هاي آر. دي .اي. را در قالب طرح مودس توصيف كرد.

Purpose: Determining the compatibility of Resource Description and Access (RDA) instructions for the recording of attributes of the first and second groups of FRBR entities with Metadata Object Description Schema (MODS) was the aim of this research. Method: The population includes primary and secondary parts, and attributes of the Metadata Object Description Schema (MODS); and Resource Description and Access instructions related recording of attributes of the first and second groups of FRBR entities. We checked compatibility of these aspects as well as eXtensible Markup Language (XML) tags for providing descriptive information of different resources according to the Resource Description and Access (RDA). In general, 440 instructions were identified and analyzed from the existing RDA text (chapters 2-11). Out of the 20 primary parts of MODS, 16 were used in this research. These 16 parts were selected according to the first and second entity groups in FRBR. Findings: Results showed that all of the RDA instructions related to the recording of attributes of the first and second groups of FRBR entities are compatible with MODS and equivalents could be found in MODS for information extracted from the RDA instructions. To make RDA instructions compatible with MODS more than one primary part should be used in some of the instructions; especially those that are usually manipulated for providing access points to different entities. Findings also indicated that there is a full compatibility between RDA instructions and MODS; and one would either be able to describe the information of a given resource in RDA or MODS. In fact a mixture of primary and secondary parts, specifications and values of RDA are compatible with MODS.
