A Comparison between two Perspectives of Phenomenology and Historicism in the Investigation of Islamic Art

نياز به روش‌شناسي در عرصه علوم اسلامي، از جمله هنر اسلامي، امري اجتناب‌ناپذير است كه داوري‌ درباره ماهيت هنر اسلامي و پرسش‌هاي نظري درمورد آن را ممكن مي‌سازد. انديشمندان در اين عرصه روش‌هاي متفاوتي را مورد توجه قرار داده‌اند و هريك براساس روشي خاص به اين مقوله نگريسته‌اند؛ به‌طوري‌كه استفاده از روش‌هاي متعدد، نتايج متفاوتي را به همراه داشته است و بعضي از تعارض‌ها و اختلافات در داوري‌ درباره ماهيت و چيستي هنر اسلامي مبتني بر اين مسيله مهم بوده است. از جمله اين روش‌ها در عرصه هنر اسلامي كه توسط انديشمندان مورد استفاده قرار گرفته است، دو روش پديدارشناسي و تاريخي‌نگري است. پديدارشناسي روش‌شناختي تحت تاثير فلسفه هوسرل از جمله راهكارهاي مهم در شناخت هنر اسلامي است كه در دهه‌هاي اخير مورد استفاده هنرشناسان و دين‌پژوهان مستشرق قرار گرفته است. اين روش در كنار تاريخي‌نگري به ترتيب بهره‌مند از دو جريان فلسفي، پديدارشناسي هوسرل و فلسفه تاريخ هگل هستند. هريك از اين روش‌ها، به زوايا و جنبه‌هاي خاصي از ماهيت هنر اسلامي اشاره دارند و از نقاط ضعف و قوتي برخوردارند. در اين مقاله علاوه بر بررسي امكان شناخت هنر اسلامي از اين‌دو منظر، به كاربرد، اهميت و برتري شيوه پديدارشناسي بر تاريخي‌نگري پرداخته شده است.

Methodology is unavoidable in Islamic sciences including Islamic art; it is only after this methodology that judging about the essence of Islamic art and the theoretical questions in this regard becomes possible. Scholars have chosen different methods in this regard and each use their own specific method which results in different outcomes. Some of the conflicts and differences in the judgment about the essence of Islamic art are based on this important point. Phenomenology and historicism are two methods used by scholars in Islamic art. One of the noticeable methods used by the Orientalist researchers of religion and virtuosi in understanding Islamic art in the recent centuries is phenomenology which is a methodology affected by the philosophy of Husserl. This method and historicism are affected by two philosophical currents: phenomenology of Husserl and the philosophy of history of Hegel. Each method has noticed a specific dimension of the essence of Islamic art; they have weaknesses and strengths compared with each other. After investigating the possibility of understanding Islamic art from these two perspectives, the importance, application and primacy of phenomenology over historicism will be explained.
