Historical Characteristics and Features of Urban Society of Iran in the Late Sassanid Period

شهرنشيني در ايران دوره ساسانيان تحول و تكامل شگرفي يافت. اگرچه شهر و شهرنشيني در اين دوره ريشه در دوره‌هاي گذشته داشت، اما شهر ساساني هم از نظر كالبد شهري و هم از نظر كاركرد دوره‌اي از تحول و توسعه و تكامل را تجربه كرد و بخش‌هايي به آن افزوده شد. تحول شهر ساساني معلول عواملي چند بود كه در مقاله حاضر از چهار منظر عوامل سياسي، اجتماعي، فرهنگي و اقتصادي موثر در اين تحول مورد بررسي قرار گرفته‌اند؛ از اين رو هدف اين پژوهش تبيين ويژگي‌هاي تاريخي و تحليل عناصر اصلي جامعه شهري در عصر ساساني از منظر نقش و تاثير روند سياسي، اجتماعي، فرهنگي و اقتصادي بر شكل‌گيري و تحول الگوي شهرنشيني و مناسبات جامعه شهري است. بررسي اين مساله از راه تبيين و روش تحليلي تاريخي نشان مي‌دهد كه شهر ساساني با حوزه سياسي و نظامي و حكومت مركزي وابستگي و پيوستگي عميق‌تري نسبت به گذشته يافت. همچنين جامعه شهري و كالبد شهر ساساني تحت تاثير جهان‌بيني، آموزه‌هاي ديني و آرمان‌هاي اجتماعي آن دوره قرار داشت.

Iran in Sassanid period witnessed a considerable evolution in urbanism. Although urbanism in this period has its root in previous periods, the Sassanid city, both in city structure and periodical function, experienced an evolution and development, and some parts were added to it. There are some factors which influenced the urban development of Sassanid city and in this paper four dimensions of it, namely, political, social, cultural and economical factors which are influential in this evolution, have been studied; therefore, the aim of this paper is to describe the historical characteristics, and to analyze the main elements of the urban society of the Sassanid period with regard to the role and effect of political, social, cultural and economical trends. Studying this matter through description and historical analysis shows that Sassanid city with political, military and central government has found a deeper consistency comparing to the past periods. Also the urban society and the body of the Sassanid city have been under the influence of religious teachings, social ideals and worldview of that period.
