Technological Determinism

هدف: نظريه ها و ديدگاه ها درمورد تكنولوژي/فناوري و رواج روز افزون آن بررسي و ديدگاه هاي انديشمندان در مورد ابعاد مثبت، منفي، و فرا مدرنيستي آن نقد مي شود و به سوال هاي مقدر پاسخ داده شده است. روش/رويكرد پژوهش: مرور متون مرتبط يافته ها: سه گروه اصلي شناسايي شدند: گروه اول با ديد مثبت، رواج فناوري را علت العلل پيشرفت هاي اقتصادي، فرهنگي، و اجتماعي مي دانند و ايجاد اقتصاد مبتني بر دانش را در تحولات فناورانه جست وجو مي كنند. گروه دوم با ديد منفي، رسوخ فناوري را در زواياي مختلف زندگي انسان، نوعي هتك حريم خصوصي افراد تلقي كرده و آن را ابزاري براي در معرض گذاشتن خصوصي ترين زواياي زندگي فرد قلمداد مي كنند. گروه سوم، كه با ديدگاه فرامدرنيستي به فناوري و عواقب آن، از آن جهت كه پيشرفت فناوري باعث زيان رساني به طبيعت مي شود، با آن به مقابله برخاسته اند.

Purpose: This research aimed to study and answer probable questions on different theories and views about technology, its increasing popularity and scholars’ views about its positive, negative and post-modernist dimensions. Design/Methodology/Approach: The methodology applied in this study was a review of the relevant literature. Findings: In accordance with the purpose of the study, three main groups were identified. The first group contained those who have a positive view about technology. They consider the development of technology to be the basic reason for economic, cultural and social progress. Accordingly they seek a knowledge-based economy in technological developments. Members of the second group have a negative view about technology. They consider the penetration of technology into different aspects of human life, as a kind of invasion of privacy. In this view technology is seen as a means of exposing the most private aspects of life to others. The third group has a post-modernist view on technology and its consequences i.e. they challenge technology since it causes some damage to nature.
