Expressing Information Need

هدف: بيان نياز اطلاعاتي اولين حلقه ارتباطي بين نياز اطلاعاتي كاربر و محتواي نظام اطلاعاتي است. كاربر با استفاده از انواع نظام هاي پردازش نمادين و شيوه هاي بيان، نياز اطلاعاتي خود را با نظام اطلاعاتي درميان مي‌گذارد. درنهايت نظام اطلاعاتي با تطبيق آنچه به عنوان پرسش ارايه شده است با مدارك و منابع موجود، پاسخي نهايي را به كاربر ارايه مي‌كند. بر اين اساس، هدف اين مقاله تشريح وجوه مختلف بيان نياز اطلاعاتي است. روش/ رويكرد پژوهش: با بررسي متون مختلف، ابتدا نياز اطلاعاتي، انواع آن و عوامل موثر بر آن به صورت خلاصه تشريح شده است؛ سپس مقولاتي مانند بيان و انديشه رابطه متقابل آنها با يكديگر و شيوه‌هاي پردازش نمادين را مورد بررسي قرار مي‌دهد. در ادامه بيان نياز اطلاعاتي، انواع پرسش و مسايلي پيرامون نظام هاي اطلاعاتي در ارتباط با بيان نياز اطلاعاتي و شيوه‌هاي بيان آن مورد كاوش قرار مي‌گيرد و به الگوهاي اطلاع‌يابي كه در آنها به بيان نياز اطلاعاتي به عنوان يك جز از الگو اشاره شده است، نظري مي‌شود. نتيجه گيري: درنهايت اين مقاله رهيافت‌هايي نظير زبان شناختي، روان شناختي و نظام هاي ذخيره و بازيابي براي پژوهش در حوزه نياز اطلاعاتي، با تاكيد بر زبان فارسي ارايه را مي‌كند كه مي‌تواند آغازگر پژوهش‌هاي نو در كتابداري و اطلاع‌رساني ايران باشد.

Purpose: The expression of information need is the first link between the information needs of users and the content of information systems. Users express their information needs to the information system through a variety of symbolic processing systems and methods of expression. Eventually the information system can present a final answer to the user’s needs through matching what is presented as a question with the available documents and resources. The purpose of this research is to describe various aspects of information needs. Design/Methodology/Approach: The present research initially summarized and described the subject of information needs, different types of it and factors affecting it, through reviewing different texts. Then concepts like expression and thought, the interaction between them and the methods of symbolic processing were studied. Moreover this study then explored the subject of expression of information needs, types of questions and issues raised about information systems related to the expression of information needs and the methods of expressing this need. Accordingly, the patterns of information seeking in which the expression of information need is referred to as a component of the model, are reviewed. Conclusions: This research presents linguistic and psychological as well as some approaches towards storage and retrieval systems for research in the field of information needs, with an emphasis on Persian. These approaches can trigger new research in Library and Information Science in Iran.
