سيد جمال‌الدين اسدآبادي و رويكردهاي تازه‌تر به تاريخ و تاريخ‌نويسي

Seyyed Jamal al-Din Asadabadi and Newer Approaches to History and Historiography

ديدگاه روشن‌فكران و انديشه‌گران با تاريخ و شناخت و فهم و برداشت آنان از تاريخ و روند و جريان آن، مقوله‌اي است كه مي‌بايست در بازكاوي گوشه و كنار انديشه‌هايشان، بدان توجه كرد. سيد جمال‌الدين اسدآبادي در ميان انديشه‌گران و روشن‌فكران عصر قاجار، آگاهي شگفت انگيزي با تاريخ و تاريخ نويسي داشت؛ چنان‌كه كم‌تر متفكري مانند او دانش تاريخي را در انديشه‌ها و هدف‌هاي سياسي و اجتماعي و اصلاح جامعه‌اش به خدمت گرفت و بر ضرورت تاريخ‌داني و بهره‌گيري علمي و عقلي از آگاهي تاريخي براي شناخت حال و ساخت آينده تاكيد كرد. اسدآبادي، متفكري تاريخ‌دان و تاريخ‌شناس و به تاريخ‌نويسي قديم و جديد آشنا و در تاريخ‌نويسي توانا بود. موضوع تاريخ نزد او، سير مدنيت و تاريخ تمدن و فرهنگ و ژرف‌نگري در اسباب ترقي و انحطاط جوامع به شمار مي‌رفت. وي با رويكرد راهبردي به تاريخ و كاركردهاي آن، فلسفه تاريخ را در ايران ابداع كرد و به گسترش ديدگاه فلسفي و انتقادي به تاريخ پرداخت. انديشه‌هاي انتقادي اسدآبادي درباره تاريخ و تاريخ‌نويسي، در هويت جديد اين دانش انساني و تحول تاريخ‌نويسي در ايران بسيار تاثير گذارد.

The historical attitudes of intellectuals and thinkers and their perceptions of history and its events and trends should be studied through analyzing the details of their thoughts. Among other intellectuals in Qajar era, Seyyed Jamal al-Din Asadabadi enjoyed wonderful understanding of history and historiography. Few other intellectuals have benefited from their historical understanding in their social and political affairs and for improving the society, as he did. He emphasized on the necessity of knowing the history of taking advantage of it rationally and academically for better perception of current events and making the future. Asadabadi, the historical thinker, was quite familiar with old and new historiography and he himself was good at it. To him, the issue of history meant delving into history of civilizations and cultures and their trends as well as thinking about the causes and means of proliferation and decay of societies. Through adopting a strategic approach, he renewed the philosophy of history in Iran and did his best to develop philosophical and critical approaches to history. His critical views towards history and historiography were effective in giving a new identity to this science as well as revolutionizing historiography in Iran.
