Evaluation of Sociological Factors Affecting Students’ Interactions and Relationships with Faculty Members

تعاملات و روابط بين دانشجويان و استادان يكي از مهم ترين عرصه هاي ساختار احتماعي علم به شمار مي آيد. هدف از اين پژوهش بررسي عوامل جامعه شناختي موثر بر تعاملات و ارتباطات دانشجويان با استادان بود. عرصه هاي مختلف تعاملاتي با توجه به نظريه هاي جامعه شناسي علم و با چارچوب نظري بورديو بررسي شده است. از روش پيمايشي براي ارزيابي تعاملات و ارتباطات استفاده شد. پاسخگويان از ميان جامعه دانشجويي دانشگاه شهيد چمران اهواز انتخاب شدند. يافته هاي پژوهش نشان داد كه سرمايه ها قابل تبديل به يكديگرند و موقعيت فرد در قلمرو اجتماعي علم با توجه به ميزان و تركيب سرمايه هاي اقتصادي، اجتماعي و فرهنگي او تعيين مي شود و تعاملات و روابط دانشجويان با استادان با ميزان سرمايه هاي آنها در بيرون و درون فضاي آكادميك رابطه مثبت و معنادار دارد. در بخش پاياني مقاله پيشنهادها و راهكارهايي براي تقويت روابط و تعاملات براي توسعه نهاد علمي ارايه شده است.

Interactions and relationships between students and faculty members are one of the most important areas of social structure of science. The purpose of this study was to investigate sociological factors affecting student interaction with faculty members. In this research, different areas of interaction and relationships were studied according to the theories of sociology of science and Bourdieus theoretical framework. A survey method was used to evaluate these interactions and relationships. Data was collected by using a questionnaire. Responses were selected from students’ population of Shahid Chamran University. Research findings showed that capitals are convertible to each other and the position of persons in social domain of science is determined by the amount and composition of social, cultural and economic capitals. And interactions and relationships between students and faculty members have a significant and positive relationship with amount of their capitals inside and outside of the academic area. The last section of this article offers suggestions and solutions to strengthen the relationships and interactions in the development of scientific institutions.
