بررسي عوامل ترغيب‌كننده و بازدارنده مطالعه در ميان مراجعان كتابخانه هاي عمومي شهرستان ماهشهر

Investigating the Factors Encouraging or Inhibiting the Study among Clients of Public Libraries in Mahshahr City

هدف: اين پژوهش عوامل ترغيب‌كننده و بازدارنده مطالعه را در ميان مراجعان 20 تا 30 ساله كتابخانه‌هاي عمومي شهرستان ماهشهر مورد مطالعه قرار داده است. روش‌: روش تحقيق در اين پژوهش پيمايشي و از نوع توصيفي مي‌باشد. براي تجزيه و تحليل داده‌ها از نرم‌افزار اِس‌پي‌اِس‌اِس و اِكسل استفاده شده و براي آزمون فرضيه‌ها ضريب همبستگي پيرسون به‌كار گرفته شده است. يافته‌ها: يافته‌هاي پژوهش نشان داد كه از ميان عوامل موثر بر مطالعه در ميان مراجعان كتابخانه‌هاي عمومي، بين وضعيت كتابخانه‌هاي عمومي و تحصيلات افراد و نيز بين تحصيلات والدين و درآمد خانواده رابطه معني‌داري وجود دارد و اين رابطه مثبت است، ولي رابطه بين قيمت كتاب‌ها و استفاده از ساير رسانه‌ها با مطالعه، منفي مي‌باشد. همچنين، يافته‌ها نشان داد كه بين عوامل تاهل و جنسيت با مطالعه رابطه معني‌داري وجود ندارد. به‌علاوه، مطالعه حاضر نشان داد كه نقش خانواده در ترغيب فرزندان به مطالعه، وجود كتابخانه در مدارس، گنجاندن ساعاتي به عنوان ساعت مطالعه در برنامه درسي و به‌خصوص اخلاق خوب كتابداران كتابخانه‌ها اهميت بسياري در ترغيب به مطالعه دارد. در مقابل نداشتن انگيزه، كمبود وقت، مناسب نبودن كتابخانه‌ها، گراني كتاب و جهت‌گيري‌هاي جامعه به سمت مسايل اقتصادي باعث ركود مطالعه در جامعه به عنوان عوامل بازدارنده مطالعه استنباط شد. اصالت/ارزش: اين تحقيق با توجه به ضرورت و اهميت مطالعه در ارتقا سطح آگاهي و دانش و نياز به گسترش فرهنگ مطالعه در بين جوانان انجام گرفته و به دليل ضرورت امر ارتقا مطالعه به‌عنوان يكي از اهداف اصلي نهاد، به شمه‌اي از عوامل ترغيب‌كننده و بازدارنده مطالعه براي استفاده در جهت‌گيري‌هاي آينده مديريتي نهاد كتابخانه‌هاي عمومي كشور مي‌پردازد

Purpose: The present research has studied the factors which encourage or inhibit studying among clients of age 20-30 years in public libraries of Mahshahr City in south west of Iran. Methodology: The methodology of this research is of surveydescriptive type. SPSS and Excel software were used for the purpose of data analysis, and Pierson’s correlation coefficient was employed for testing the hypotheses. Findings: The research findings indicated that among the factors influencing the studying of clients in public libraries, there is a positive significant relationship between status of public libraries and individuals’ education level, as well as between parents’ education level and family’s income. On the other hand, there is a negative significant correlation between the price of books and study, as well as use of other media and study. In addition, the findings showed that no significant relationship exists between the two factors of being married and gender and study. Furthermore, the present research indicated that the factors of importance in encouraging the study include: family’s role in encouraging children to study, existence of libraries in schools, setting a special time in curriculum for study, and especially the librarians’ being affable. In contrast, the important factors in inhibiting the study were concluded to be: lack of motivation, time shortage, inappropriateness of libraries, high price of books, and society’s approach toward economic issues. Originality/Value: This research has been carried out among youth concerning the significance of studying in promotion of their knowledge and the necessity of spreading study culture. It therefore investigates several factors encouraging and inhibiting the study for its use in future managerial policies of national institution of public libraries.
