Educational needs of faculty members of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences in 2011

سابقه و اهداف: شناسايي نيازهاي آموزشي، گامي مهم در برنامه ريزي براي برنامه‌هاي رشد اعضا هييت علمي بوده و نقش مهمي در ارتقاي كيفيت آموزش دارد. هدف مطالعه حاضر، تعيين نيازهاي آموزشي اعضا هييت علمي دانشگاه علوم پزشكي يزد و اولويت بندي اين نيازها بود تا اولويت‌هايي كه بايد آموزش داده شود، تعيين و به مسيولان براي طراحي برنامه‌هاي آموزشي ارايه گردد. روش بررسي: مطالعه از نوع مقطعي بود كه بر روي كليه اعضا هييت علمي دانشگاه علوم پزشكي شهيد صدوقي يزد به تعداد 260 نفر انجام شد. با استفاده از شاخص‌هاي بدست آمده از مرور متون، پرسشنامه‌اي تنظيم سپس روايي و پايايي آن تعيين شد. اهميت نياز آموزشي با نمره 1 تا 20 مشخص گرديده بود؛ و در نهايت داده‌ها تجزيه و تحليل شد. يافته‌ها: حيطه‌هاي مختلف نياز آموزشي در اعضا هييت علمي باليني به ترتيب: حيطه آشنايي با آيين نامه‌هاي مرتبط با ارتقا ، پژوهش، توسعه فردي و در اعضا هييت علمي غير باليني به ترتيب: حيطه پژوهش، آشنايي با آيين نامه‌هاي مرتبط با ارتقا و آموزش اولويت‌بندي گرديد. در اعضا هييت علمي باليني: اولويت اول در حيطه آموزش، طراحي، اجرا و تحليل آزمون‌هاي شفاهي و مشاهده؛ در حيطه پژوهش، مهارت تحليل آماري داده‌ها و در اعضا هييت علمي غير باليني: اولويت اول در حيطه آموزش، نحوه پرورش تفكر انتقادي و قدرت استدلال؛ در حيطه پژوهش، نحوه ارزيابي و داوري طرح‌هاي تحقيقاتي بود. نتيجه‌گيري: اعضا هييت علمي باليني به هر هفت حيطه اصلي، به ويژه آيين نامه‌هاي مرتبط با ارتقا و اعضا هييت علمي غير باليني به حيطه پژوهش نياز آموزشي دارند. پيشنهاد مي‌گردد براي برنامه‌ريزي اهميت و وزن هر هفت حيطه به صورت استاندارد مشخص شود.

Introduction: Identifying educational needs is an essential step in planning faculty development programs. It plays an important role in promoting the quality of education. The aim of this study was to determine and prioritize the educational needs of clinical and non clinical faculty members of Faculty of Medicne of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences. Methods: A questionnaire was developed for this cross-sectional study using the indices identified by reviewing the literature. The questionnaire was sent to all faculty members of Medical Faculty (n=260). The items were scored from 1 to 20 according to the importance of the educational needs. Data was analyzed by SPSS software. Results: Different areas of educational needs of the clinical faculty members were respectively prioritized as: familiarity with National Medical Universities Ranking Schemeresearch, personal development, administrative and executive activities, education, specialized activities outside the university and health services and health promotion. In the non clinical faculty members: research, familiarity with National Medical Universities Ranking Schemeeducation, personal development, specialized activities outside the university, administrative and executive activities. The first priority of education in the clinical faculty members was design, implementation and analysis of oral exams. In research domain priorities were data analysis skills and the first priority of education in the non clinical faculty members was how to foster critical thinking and reasoning in research and critical appraisal skills. Conclusion: Faculty members need all of the seven studiedmajor areas. It is recommended further research to determine the weight of these seven areas using a standard method.
