بررسي وضعيت مطالعه عمومي و تخصصي كتابداران كتابخانه‌هاي عمومي شهر مشهد

A Study of the Librariansʹʹ General and Specialized Reading Status at Mashhad Public Libraries

هدف: هدف از انجام پژوهش حاضر، تعيين وضعيت انجام مطالعه عمومي و تخصصي كتابداران كتابخانه‌هاي عمومي شهر مشهد و شناسايي عوامل موثر بر آن است. روش: روش پژوهش حاضر پيمايشي و از نوع كاربردي و ابزار گردآوري داده‌ها، پرسشنامه محقق‌ساخته است. يافته‌ها: بنا بر اظهار كتابداران، ميانگين زماني كه آنها در يك روز صرف انجام مطالعه عمومي و تخصصي مي‌كنند به ترتيب 77/47 و 08/29 دقيقه در روز بوده است. ميزان علاقه كتابداران به انجام مطالعه عمومي و تخصصي از سطح متوسط بيشتر و ميزان انجام مطالعه عمومي و تخصصي توسط ايشان از سطح متوسط كمتر است. كتابداران عمده‌ترين دلايل انجام مطالعه عمومي را افزايش اطلاعات عمومي، كسب لذت از مطالعه و افزايش توان پاسخ‌گويي به مراجعان؛ و مهم‌ترين دلايل انجام مطالعه تخصصي خود را افزايش توان پاسخگويي به مراجعان كتابخانه، به روز بودن و حضور موثر در جامعه علمي رشته خود برشمردند. عمده‌ترين موانع بازدارنده كتابداران كتابخانه‌هاي عمومي شهر مشهد از انجام مطالعه عمومي شامل خستگي ناشي از فعاليت شغلي، كمبود وقت و فرصت مطالعه و قوانين اداري بوده است. خستگي ناشي از فعاليت شغلي، تاثير نداشتن مطالعه در ارزشيابي شغلي، و قوانين اداري از مهم‌ترين موانع بازدارنده كتابداران مورد بررسي در انجام مطالعه تخصصي آنها بوده است. همچنين تنها ميان سن كتابداران مورد بررسي و ميزان مطالعه عمومي و تخصصي آنها رابطه معنادار آن هم به‌صورت معكوس وجود دارد. اصالت/ارزش: اين پژوهش ضمن مستند كردن وضعيت مطالعه كتابداران كتابخانه‌هاي عمومي شهر مشهد، چالش‌ها و مشكلات اصلي موجود را نيز شناسايي كرده كه با رفع آن‌ها و انجام برنامه‌ريزي مدون توسط مديران، مي‌توان زمينه پرورش و ظهور مشاوران و متخصصان اطلاعاتي بامعلومات را در كتابخانه‌هاي عمومي جهت ارايه خدمات اطلاعاتي مناسب فراهم كرد.

Purpose: This study aims to determine the status of the librariansʹ general and specialized reading at Mashhad public libraries and identify the factors which impact it. Method: A descriptive analytical method was used as the research method. A researcher-made questionnaire was selected as the tool for data collection. Findings: According to the librarians, the average time they spend a day on general and specialized reading is respectively 47.77 and 29.08 minutes. The findings showed that the librariansʹ interest in general reading is higher than an intermediate level while their specialized reading is lower than an average level. Increasing general information, learning to enjoy by reading, and responding to the library clients have been the most important reasons reported by the librarians for their general reading. However, the most important reasons for their specialized reading have emerged to be increasing their ability to respond to the clients, being up-to-date and active participation in scientific communities. Tiredness resulting from daily work, ineffectiveness of reading in job evaluation, and administrative rules have been the major obstacles reported by the librarians for specialized reading. Findings also indicated a significant negative correlation between the librariansʹ age and their general and specialized reading. Originality/Value: This study has documented the reading status of librarians of Mashhad public libraries and identified some existing challenges and problems. In case they are solved and systematic plans are adopted by managers, qualified librarians and information consultants may be trained for public libraries
