چكيده شيعيان در دوره‌هايي از تاريخ، به‌ويژه از عصر صفويه به بعد، روز نهم ربيع‌الاول را روزي مبارك برشمرده و در اين روز جشن‌هايي برگزار كرده‌اند. اين نوشتار مي‌كوشد دليل اين بزرگداشت و شادماني را بيابد و با بهره بردن از منابع معتبر و كهن نشان دهد كه حادثه اصلي اين روز، آغاز امامت حضرت مهدي? است؛ زيرا پدر آن بزرگوار در روز هشتم ربيع‌الاول به شهادت رسيده و آن‌چه درباره شادماني به دليل مرگ يكي از دشمنان اهل‌بيت? گفته مي‌شود، مربوط به اين روز نيست و در زماني ديگر رخ داده است.

Abstract Shiites in periods of history, especially since the Safavid era, have regarded the ninth day of RabiolAvval as holy and have celebrated this day. This article is set to explore the reason for this celebration and demonstrate through valid and ancient references that the main event of commemorating this day in history is the beginning of imamate of Mahdi. As the father of this holy Imam is martyred on the 8th of the same month and what has been said about commemorating the death of one of the enemies of AhlulBayton this day is not true or did not happen at that same day.
