The Stylistic Study of Towzih-al-Akhlagh

«توضيح الاخلاق» اثر «خليفه سلطان»، وزير كاردان و دانشمند سه تن از پادشاهان صفوي، است. اين متن، بازنويسي «اخلاق ناصري» به زبان ساده رايج در عصر صفوي است كه به فرمان شاه صفي صورت گرفته است. مقدّمه اين اثر، همانند ديگر متون عصر صفوي، به نثري فنّي نگاشته شده است، امّا نثر متن اصلي به دليل پرداختن به مسايل علمي و اخلاقي نثري ساده است. خليفه سلطان در اين اثر از لحاظ محتوا نظر تازه‌اي ابراز نداشته است، و در نهايت امانت داري آنها را به زباني ساده‌تر بيان كرده است. خليقه سلطان با افزودن عبارتهاي توضيحي و آوردن مترادفات براي بعضي از واژه‌ها، دگركون‌سازي بعضي تغييرات در جهت مفهوم‌سازي بيشتر و عدم استفاده از لغات تركي و مفعولي، متني ساده از اخلاق ناصري پديد آورده است. مقاله حاضر نتيجه پژوهش در متن «توضيح الاخلاق» و بررسي آن از لحاظ سبك‌شناسي است. تصحيح و مقابله نسخه‌هاي خطّي اين اثر به دست نگارنده اين گفتار به انجام رسيده است.

The present study describes the style of the text of Towzih-al-Akhlagh. The researcher has tried to collate, compare and verify some different manuscripts of Towzih-al-Akhlagh which was written by Caliph Soltan, the scholarly minister of three of the Safavid kings. This work is actually a revised version of Akhlagh-e -Nasiri, in a simple, standard language of the Safavid period, which was performed by King Safi’s command. The introduction of this work, like the other Safavid texts, is written in a rather technical prose; yet, the style of the main text, as it is dealing with scientific and moral issues, is quite simple. As far as the content is considered, Khalifah Soltan has not stated any new comment, and while having some objections towards some parts of Akhlagh-e-Nasiri, remains quite loyal to the main text, and has expressed them in a simpler language. This article first introduces the author of the book, and then, the text itself. After paying attention to the prose writing style of the Safavid period, the stylistic features of the text will be explained in detail.
