An Investigation of Theme Development in Fadvā Toqānʹʹs Poems: From Despair to Hope and Resistance

بي‌گمان شعر هر شاعري آينه‌اي است كه مقتضيات زمانه‌ي او را بازتاب مي‌دهد و نمودار احساسات و واكنش او در برابر رخدادها و جريان‌هاي موجود در جامعه‌اش است و از جانب ديگر شعر بر حوادث و مسايل زمانه‌ي خود نيز تاثيرگذار است و مردم را از كاري منع و به عملي تشويق مي‌كند، شعر فدوي طوقان شاعر سياسي و متعهد فلسطيني مجسم‌كننده‌ي دردها، اميدها و آرزوها، مبارزه و مقاومت مردمي است كه در سرزمين خود مانند بيگانگان و متجاوزان با آن‌ها رفتار مي‌شود. فدوي در مقطعي رهايي از اين مشكلات و دشواري‌ها را ناممكن مي‌داند و در گرداب ياس غوطه مي‌خورد و به‌دنبال آن در شعر اميد، آواز مقاومت تا رهايي سرمي‌دهد و هرآنچه در خود مي‌بيند، در راه وطن فدا مي‌كند. در اين مقاله سعي شده تا با مطالعه‌ي ديوان شعري اين شاعر بزرگ، اشعار وي را براساس سه مفهوم و درون‌مايه: ياس و نااميدي، اميد و اراده براي تغيير آينده، مبارزه و مقاومت طبقه‌بندي كرده و يك مسيريابي در شعر فدوي انجام گيرد؛ مسيري از ياس به اميد و مبارزه كه ردپاي آن در شعر فدوي قابل ملاحظه و رديابي است. با مطالعه‌ي ديوان فدوي طوقان براي مسايل فوق‌الذكر نمونه‌هاي فراواني يافت شده است. در انجام اين تحقيق روش استقراي تام استفاده شده است.

Undoubtedly, the poems of any poet resemble a mirror reflecting the circumstances of his time and illustrate his feelings and reactions to the current events of society. On the other hand, poems too impact social events of their time and may encourage people to perform an action or prevent them from undertaking an activity. The poems of Fadv?Toq?n, a political and committed poet from Palestine, represent the pains, hopes and wishes as well as the struggles and resistance of the people who are treated in their homeland like strangers and invaders.Fadv? is influenced by the pains and sufferings ofher people and society and puts her grief into words; sometimes she thinks it impossible to become free from these problems and sufferings and thus plunges into a whirlpool of despair. This is then followed by her poetry of hope where she chants ʹresistance till freedomʹ and sacrifices allher love, devotion and blood for the sake of her homeland. The present paper, relying on the analysis of Toq?nʹsDivan, categorizes her poems into three themes of despair and disappointment, hope and determination for changing the future and finally struggle and resistance. Based on this classification we identified a trend in these poems: a trend from despair to hope and struggle. For all the issues discussed above, numerous instances are extracted from Fadv?Toq?nʹsDivanand analyzed using completeinduction.
