Rage and Fury in the Poems and Thought of Mozaffar al-Navvāb

مظفرالنواب به عنوان يكي از شاعران برجسته و سرشناس عراقي در حوزه‌ي نقد سياسي و اجتماعي و يكي از يكه تازان عرصه‌ي هجو، جايگاه ويژه‌اي در ادبيات معاصر عراق دارد. وي كه تجربه‌ي روزگاري پرفراز و نشيب در دوران بي‌ثباتي سياسي و سپس فشار و تبعيد را تجربه كرده است، خشمگين از ناكامي سران عرب در حل معضلات اجتماعي و سياسي به ويژه مسيله‌ي فلسطين و تمايلات سازشكارانه‌ي آن‌ها و نيز ناتواني توده‌ي عرب در حل مشكلات پيش رويشان است با زباني تند و هجايي عريان به نمايش كاستي‌هاي اجتماعي و سياسي و انتقاد از مسببان وضعيت وخيم مردم عرب مي‌پردازد بي‌شك توانايي‌هاي زباني و تعبيرهاي ساده به او كمك كرد تا بتواند طيف مخاطبان خود را گسترش بخشيده و پيام خويش را به آنان انتقال دهد.

Mozaffar al-Navv?b, a distinguished Iraqi poet and a leading satirist, well-known in the field of social and political critique, has a privilegedstatus in contemporary Iraqi literature. He has experienced a difficult life in theperiod of political instability in Iraq and has later suffered from pressure and exile; he is angry at the inability of Arab authorities to resolve social and political problems especially those related to Palestine; he is also angry at the compromising strategies of authorities as well as the inability of the Arabs to face and tackle their own problems. Mozaffar al-Navv?b expresses his anger over all these issues and the social and political shortcomings in a harshand naked language and criticizes the agents of the deplorable conditions of the Arabs; his mastery over vernacular language and his fluent Arabic has attracted a wider audience for his message.
