Criticism of Translation of Rubaiyat of Khayyam by Ahmed Safi Najafi of Rubaiyat with a Linguistic Approach

يكي از مهمترين مشكلات پيش رو در نقد ترجمه، نبود روش هاي علمي و منسجم است كه باعث شده "مقابله" با "نقد ترجمه" اشتباه گرفته شود. اين امر به ويژه در ترجمه متون ادبي بين زبانهاي عربي و فارسي بيشتر مشهود است، بنابراين لزوم علمي شدن فرايند ترجمه و نقد ترجمه هاي ادبي از عربي به فارسي و بالعكس به شدت احساس مي شود. امروزه پژوهشگران و ترجمه پژوهان، رويكردهاي گوناگوني را در نقد ترجمه هاي متون مختلف از جمله متون ادبي در پيش مي گيرند. برخي از مهمترين اين رويكردها عبارتند از: رويكرد زبان شناختي، روان شناختي، جامعه شناختي، ديدگاه فرهنگي، سبك شناختي و... در اين مقاله سعي بر اين است تا با رويكرد زبان شناختي به نقد و تحليل ترجمه احمد صافي نجفي از رباعيات خيام بپردازيم. در نقد زبان شناختي عوامل درون متني و برون متني بررسي مي- شود. عوامل درون متني شامل حذف و اضافه و تغيير معناست كه در برخي موارد بنا بر ضرورت هاي شعري و ابهام زدايي معاني براي مخاطب عرب زبان انجام شده و در بسياري موارد نيز بجاست. در برخي موارد نيز اين تغييرات مخل معناست و به اصل پيام ضربه وارد كرده، باعث بروز اشتباهاتي در معادل گزيني واژگان، جايگزيني ناصحيح ساختارهاي دستوري و عدم موفقيت مترجم در انتقال برخي زيبايي هاي ادبي شده است. در عوامل برون متني نيز مواردي بررسي مي شود كه مترجم افكار و انديشه هاي خود را بر متن تحميل نموده، باعث تغيير معنا و مفهوم رباعي شده است.

One of the important problems in translation criticism is lack of coherent and scientific methods leading to confusion between comparison and criticism of translation. Such confusion is particularly seen in literary texts translated from Arabic into Persian or vice verse. Therefore, the need for a scientific criticism of translation processes and products from Persian into Arabic and vice verse is felt.Nowadays, researchers and translation scholars follow different approaches in criticism of translation of different texts including literary ones. Some of these approaches are linguistic, psycholinguistic, sociolinguistic, cultural, stylistic, and so on. The present paper aims at analyzing Ahmed Safi Najafi’s translation of Rubaiyat Khayyam using the linguistic approach. Intertextual and extratextual elements are studied in linguistic approach. Intertextual elements including addition, reduction, and interpretation of meaning applied by translator where needed in order to remove ambiguities for the Arab reader. Though such changes are in place in many cases, sometimes they ruin the original message, leads to wrong choice of words and syntactic structures and translator’s failure in transferring some poetic beauties. A review of extratextual elements, on the other hand, shows the cases in which the translator imposes his own thoughts on the text leading to change of meaning of Rubaiyat.
