آدمي همواره در تلاش است تا براي رهايي از وضع نامطلوب كنوني خود جايگزيني پيدا كند، او مطلوبش را گاه با جستجوي گذشته و گاه با روياي آينده مي‌يابد. حسرت گذشته و دلتنگي براي آنچه از دست رفته - كه يكي از حوزه‌هاي معنايي پديده‌ي نوستالژي است - هماره ذهن بشر را درگير خود كرده است. شاعران در چكامه هاي خود به‌نحوي حسرت گذشته و دلتنگي حاصل از آن را با ابزارهاي زباني و تصويرهاي شعري گوناگون بيان كرده اند. اين موضوع به‌عنوان يكي از رفتارهاي ناخودآگاه فرد در شعر ابراهيم ناجي شاعر رمانتيك معاصر عرب نمود برجسته‌اي دارد. غم دوري از وطن، يادكرد حسرت‌آميز ايام وصال معشوق، سوگ عزيزان، ياد اسطوره ها و شكايت از روزگار خزان‌ديده‌ي پيري و باستان‌گرايي از مولفه هاي نوستالژيك اشعار او به‌شمار مي رود. وي با صدق عاطفه و فوران احساس اين معاني را در شعر خود به‌تصوير مي‌كشد. نوشتار حاضر با روش تحليلي- توصيفي ظهور و بروز اين پديده‌ي روانشناختي- اجتماعي را در سروده‌هاي ابراهيم ناجي از سرآمدان شعر معاصر عرب مورد مطالعه قرار داده است.

Human beings always try to find alternatives to run from their undesirable condition. They find their desired condition by either searching in the past or dreaming about the future. Regret for the past and melancholic feelings for what is lost and gone, which are some aspects of the phenomenon of nostalgia, have always occupied the minds of human beings. Poets have expressed their regret for the past and the resulted melancholy with linguistic tools and different poetic images. As an unconscious behavior, such feelings are prominently represented in the poems of Ibrahim Naji, the romantic poet of contemporary Arab literature. The grief for distance from home, regretful reminiscence of the days spent with the lover, mourning for the loved ones, reminiscence of myths and complaining about his being old are among the nostalgic components of his poetry. By using a descriptive-analytic method, the present paper studies appearance of this psychological and social phenomenon in poems by Ibrahim Naji one of the prominent poets of contemporary Arab literature.
