The Factorial Structure of the Multidimensional Aptitude Battery (MAB)

هدف پژوهش حاضر بررسي ساختار عاملي نسخه فارسي مجموعه آزمون هاي استعداد چند بعدي (MAB) در جامعه دانشجويان بود. ابتدا MAB به زبان فارسي ترجمه شد. سپس به زبان انگليسي برگردانده شد و با نسخه اصلي جهت شناسايي و اصلاح شكاف‌هاي بين نسخه ترجمه شده و نسخه اصلي مقايسه شد. در نهايت پس از مطالعه مقدماتي و رفع اشكالات، آزمون نهايي بر دانشجويان گروه نمونه شامل315 نفر از دانشجويان علوم انساني و پايه دانشگاه پيام نور مركز تبريز اجرا شد. در اين پژوهش، تحليل عاملي تاييدي و همچنين تحليل عاملي اكتشافي با استفاده از روش مولفه‌هاي اصلي و چرخش واريماكس بر روي 10 خرده آزمون MAB اجرا شد. بررسي نمودار اسكري كتل و تحليل موازي هورن حاكي از آن بود كه راه حل دو عاملي مناسب است. نتايج به وضوح دو عامل را نشان دادند. عامل اول 24/41% و عامل دوم در حدود 98/14% واريانس مجموعه آزمون ها را تبيين مي كردند. همانند مقياس اصلي، اين عوامل بر اساس محتواي غالب آزمون ها، مقياس عملي و كلامي نامگذاري شدند.

The purpose of the present research was to investigate the factorial structure of Persian version of the Multidimensional Aptitude Battery (MAB) in students’ population. First, the subtests were translated into Farsi. Then, it was retranslated into English and compared with the original version to find and correct the gaps between the translated version and the original version. Finally, after the pilot study and resolving the mistakes, the final subtests were carried out for sample group consisting of 315 students studying in Humanities and basic Sciences in Tabriz Payame Noor University. In this study, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and also Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) were conducted on the 10 subtests of the MAB, using a Principal Component Analysis, with Varimax Rotation. Cattell’s scree plot and Horn’s parallel analysis indicated the two factor solutions. The results showed the two factors clearly. The first factor accounted for 41.24 % and the second factor about 14.98 % of the variance in the subtests set. As the original scale, these factors were called Performance and Verbal scales, according to subtests contents.
