A Comparison of Communication Skills and Life Quality between Physically Active and Physically Inactive Academic Staff Members of Islamic Azad Universities in East Azerbaijan Province

اين تحقيق با هدف مقايسه مهارت هاي ارتباطي و كيفيت زندگي اعضاي هييت علمي فعال و غيرفعال حركتي دانشگاه هاي آزاد اسلامي استان آذربايجان شرقي به مرحله اجرا گذاشته شد. جامعه آماري اين تحقيق اعضاي هييت علمي دانشگاه هاي آزاد استان آذربايجان شرقي بودند كه تعداد 342 نفر از جامعه مذكور با استفاده از مطالعات مقدماتي انتخاب شدند و پرسش نامه هاي تحقيق بين آنان توزيع گرديد. متغيرهاي مورد مطالعه اين تحقيق با استفاده از سه نوع پرسش نامه كيفيت زندگي (والتون) و پرسش نامه مهارت هاي ارتباطي(چيك بوس و مارتنز)، اندازه گيري شدند. به منظور تجزيه و تحليل داده هاي به دست آمده از آمار توصيفي و استنباطي استفاده گرديد. همچنين براي بررسي فرض نرمال بودن توزيع داده ها، از آزمون كلموگروف- اسميرونوف و براي بررسي همساني كليه متغيرهاي تحقيق از آزمون لوين استفاده شد و در بخش يافته هاي استنباطي از آزمون t و آزمون هاي همبستگي پيرسون استفاده شد. يافته هاي تحقيق نشان داد كه: - ميانگين سن اعضاي هييت علمي نمونه 53/37 سال بود. از مجموع 342 نفر آزمودني تحقيق، تعداد 209 نفر در يك سال گذشته به طور مرتب فعاليت حركتي و ورزشي داشتند. - در مقايسه كيفيت زندگي آزمودني هاي فعال و غير فعال اختلاف معني داري مشاهده نشد. - در مقايسه مهارت هاي ارتباطي آزمودني هاي فعال و غيرفعال اختلاف معني داري مشاهده شد.

The purpose of this research is to compare the communication skills and life quality of physically active and physically inactive academic staff members of Islamic Azad Universities of East Azerbaijan Province. The statistical population consisted of the academic staff members of Islamic Azad Universities of East Azerbaijan Province, from among whom 342 people were chosen after preliminary studies, and the research questionnaires were distributed among them. The variables of the research were measured by three types of life quality questionnaires (Walton, 1974) and communication skills questionnaires (Martens, 1987). In order to analyze the gathered data, descriptive and inferential statistics were used. Also, for the examination of the hypothesis of the normality of data distribution, Climograph-Smirnoff test was used, and for the examination of the isotropy of all research variables, Levin Test was used. To analyze the inferential findings, T-test and Pearsonʹs Correlation tests were used. The results indicated that: - The average age of sample faculty members was 37.53 years. - Among subjects from academic degree point of view, faculty members with M.A. degree were the most (79.5 %). - Among sample faculty members there were 266 male and 76 females, 260 of whom were married. - Among 342 people of the subjects, 209 people regularly had physical exercise in the last one year. Most of them (66.5 %) had physical exercise twice a week. - Regarding the quality of physically work life of physically active and inactive faculty members there was not a meaningful difference. - The comparison of communication skills of physically active and inactive subjects showed a meaningful difference.
