Flame Retardancy of Epoxy Resin: A Review I. Microfiller Flame Retardants

در اين مقاله مواد مختلفي كه براي بازدارندگي شعله رزين اپوكسي به كار مي روند، مرور مي شوند. به علت گستردگي موضوع، مطالب در دو قسمت مي شود. در قسمت اول ابتدا احتراق اپوكسي بررسي مي شود. سپس سازوكار هاي كلي بازدارندگي شعله بررسي و در نهايت مواد مختلفي كه در اين باره در رزين اپوكسي به كار مي روند، ارايه مي شود. مواد بازدارنده شعله معمولي مثل مواد معدني، معمولا بايد با درصد بالا در پليمر به كار روند، بنابراين ممكن است مقدار زياد آنها سبب افت خواص مكانيكي پليمر شوند. مواد هالوژندار نيز گرچه بازده زيادي دارند اما در حين سوختن مواد سمي آزاد مي كنند. امروزه استفاده از مواد بازدارنده موسوم به مواد سبز متداول شده است كه معايب مواد معمولي را ندارند. در اين مقاله انواع ريز پركننده هاي به كار رفته براي بازدارندگي شعله در رزين اپوكسي، سازوكار عمل، معايب و مزاياي آنها بررسي مي شود.

This review summarizes the main features to make flame retardant epoxy resins. Because of a wide range of available flame retardant fillers, the article has been divided into two parts. In part I, an account on the combustion of epoxy resin is given and then, the flame retardancy mechanisms are presented and finally the microfiller flame retardants are being discussed. Conventional flame retardants such as inorganic fillers have low efficiency at low loadings and it is necessary to load the fillers to a very high concentration which in turn drastically reduces the bulk mechanical properties of the resin. On the other hand the halogenated flame retardants have high efficiency but release toxic gases during combustion. In recent years, environment friendly products such as ‘green flame retardants’ have received considerable attention. The main purpose of this article is to introduce microfillers which are used to make epoxy resin flame retardants, with their mechanistic features and some aspects of their advantages and disadvantages
