ترجمه در همه سطوح زباني (واژگان، نحو، آوا، ...) تحت تاثير عوامل فرازباني قرار دارد. يكي از اين عوامل، پيش فرضهاي عقيدتي است كه ذهنيت را در گزينش معادل‌هاي زبان مقصد حاكم كرده و باعث ميشود كه ترجمه‌هاي گوناگون از يك متن واحد ارايه شوند. در طول قرن‌ها، برخي اشخاص و نهادها عقايد خاص خود را به منظور ايجاد تاثيرات مشخص و مورد نظر در ترجمه اعمال كرده‌اند. اين مقاله قصد دارد تا با بررسي ترجمه قرآن ماكس هنينگ كه يكي از مهمترين ترجمه‌هاي قرن بيستم است، نقش پيش فرض‌هاي عقيدتي مترجم را در ترجمه مورد بررسي قرار دهد. نتايج نقد و بررسي جستار ذيل، نشان مي‌دهد كه افزون بر اصول كلي ترجمه، يعني تسلط كامل بر زبان مبدا، زبان مقصد، تسلط بر گستره علمي (كه متن اصلي به آن تعلق دارد) و امانت داري، توجه به نكته ديگري نيز لازم است: تاثير باورها و پيش‌فرض‌هاي كلامي و عقيدتي در روند ترجمه. نتايج اين بررسي مي‌تواند راهكارهايي را براي ترجمه بهينه قرآن در پيش روي مترجم قرار دهد.

Translation is under the influence of para-lingual factors on all lingual levels (lexicon, syntax, sound, etc.). One of these factors is the religious presuppositions that engage the mind in selecting equivalent words in the target language, which leads to the appearance of multiple translations of a single text. Throughout the centuries, some nations and organizations, in order to create a certain effect, have injected their own specific beliefs in translation. This article will study Max Heningʹs translation of the Holy Quran, which is one of the most significant translations in the twentieth century, and discuss the role of religious presuppositions in translation. The results of this study indicate that in addition to the general principles of translation, meaning the complete mastery of the source and target languages, mastery of scentific domains (which belongs to the original text), and fidelity, the influence of theological and doctrinal beliefs and assumptions also play a significant role in the selection and use of cerain words in the process of translation. The results of studying these presuppositions in this research may help us suggest methods for an ideal translation of the Holy Quran.
