Research Needs of Faculty Members in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences

مقدمه: پژوهش يكي از شاخص‌هاي مهم موفقيت جوامع در حوزه‌هاي مختلف علمي، تكنولوژي، اقتصادي و ... است. استادان و دانشگاهيان هم از جمله مهم‌ترين گروه‌هاي داراي رسالت علمي و اجرايي در اين زمينه هستند. در اين راستا در مقاله‌ي حاضر، تعيين نيازهاي پژوهشي استادان هدف پژوهش بوده است. روش بررسي: پژوهش توصيفي تحليلي، مقطعي و گذشته‌نگر است كه بر روي 119 نفر از استادان هيات علمي دانشگاه علوم پزشكي اصفهان با به كارگيري پرسش‌نامه‌ي محقق ساخته (95/0 = ?) در سال 1386 انجام شده است. نمونه‌ها به نسبت جمعيت انتخاب شده به صورت انفرادي و حضوري دعوت به همكاري شدند. اطلاعات با استفاده از نرم‌افزار SPSSنسخه 15 در سطح آمار توصيفي گزارش گرديد. يافته‌ها: عمده‌ترين يافته‌هاي پژوهش عبارتند از: ميانگين نمرات به دست آمده در زمينه‌ي نيازهاي اجتماعي 91/3، نيازهاي سازماني 9/3، نيازهاي آموزشي 81/3 و نيازهاي حمايتي پشتيباني 93/3 بوده است. بيشترين گزارش از نياز استادان نيز مربوط به تعريف بودجه‌ي مناسب و آزاد كردن زمان كافي براي پژوهش بوده است. نتيجه‌گيري: استادان در حوزه‌ي پژوهش نيازهاي مختلفي داشته‌اند ولي بيش از همه حمايت‌هاي اقتصادي را اذعان نمودند. در مجموع لازم است تا دانشگاه برنامه‌هاي منظم و هدفمندي براي حضور علمي و فعال استادان در حوزه‌ي پژوهش داشته باشد. واژه‌هاي كليدي: نيازهاي پژوهشي؛ هيات علمي؛ دانشگاه‌ها

Abstract Introduction: Research is one of the major indicators of success of societies in various scientific, technological, and economic domains. University faculty members, in general, are of the most important groups with scientific and administrative responsibilities in this field. Therefore, addressing their research needs and requirements is considered as a major aim. Methods: In this cross-sectional, descriptive-analytical and prospective study, 119 faculty members of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Iran, using a researcher-made questionnaire (? = 0.95) were participated. They were selected in proportion to their population and were invited individually to complete the questionnaire. The data were reported based on descriptive statistics. Results: The obtained mean scores were 3.91 for social needs, 3.9 for organizational needs, 3.81 for educational needs, and 3.93 for supportive needs. The highest reported needs were defining an appropriate budget and providing enough free time for researching. Conclusion: The faculty members had various needs in the research field; however, they emphasized more on financial supports. Generally, universities should have regular and targeted programs for active role of instructors in the research field. Keywords: Research Needs; Faculty Members; Universities
