Identity Functions of Prejudice and Stereotypes A Case Study ‎of Tehran University Students

ميزان شناخت و نحوه ادراك افراد يك جامعه از يكديگر مبناي اصلي تعامل ‏آنها با يكديگر است. اين‌كه ما ديگران را چگونه فهم و ارزيابي مي‌كنيم، نقش ‏شايان توجهي در برقراري ارتباط با دوري‌گزيدن از ديگران و يا نفي و حتي ‏حذف آنها دارد.‏ تحليل فرايندهايي كه از طريق آن بتوان تصورات اجتماعي و قضاوت‌هاي ‏افراد و گروه‌ها را درباره يكديگر ارزيابي كرد، يكي از شيوه‏هاي موثر براي ‏فهم احساسات و تصورات افراد جامعه از يكديگر و در رابطه با گروه‏هاي ‏هويتي است. در نتيجه، به واسطه گستردگي پيامدهاي اين تصورات، ضرورت ‏تحليل و ارزيابي آنها بيش از پيش احساس مي‌شود.‏ پرسش‏ اصلي مقاله حاضر اين است كه تصورات قالبي و پيشداوري در ‏بين گروه‏هاي اجتماعي چه كاركردهاي هويتي دارند؟ در اين مقاله، ابتدا ‏مفاهيم تصورات قالبي و پيشداوري و ارتباط ميان آنها تبيين مي‏شود و در ‏ادامه كاركردهاي هويتي آنها مورد بحث قرار خواهد گرفت.‏

Understanding of how people interact with each other as a main matter in ‎society is the main basis for a community coherence. How do we understand ‎and evaluate others, Avoiding or relatationship with them is an important ‎role in communicating with others or deny or remove them.‎ One of the most effective ways to understand each otherʹs feelings and ‎perceptions of individuals and groups in relation to the identification, is ‎analysis of the processes that through which social perceptions and ‎judgments of individuals and groups can be evaluated on each other.‎ The main subject of this paper is studying the functions of stereotypes ‎and prejudice between social groups and it’s impact on social identity. In this ‎paper the concepts of stereotypes and prejudices are explained, and the ‎relationship between them and the identity functions of them will be ‎discussed.‎
