A Glance at Technical Prose Based on a Comparison of “Nafthat al-Masdūr” and “Dorah al-Nāderah”

پژوهشهاي ادبي بيانگر اين نكته است كه نثر پارسي تاكنون دگرديسي دوگانه‌اي را پشت سر گذاشته است: گرايش از ساده‌نويسي به پيچيده‌نويسي و بازگشت از پيچيده‌نويسي به ساده‌نويسي. البتّه در هر دوره‌اي ميتوان نشانه‌‌هايي از نثر ساده يا متكلّف را سراغ گرفت امّا در هر حال، يكي از اين دو در سايه ديگري قرار داشته است. مقايسه دو كتاب «نفثه‌المصدور» و «درّه نادره» به عنوان دو كتاب شاخص در عرصه نثر فنّي، كه يكي از آنها در ابتداي شكل‌گيري اين سبك و ديگري در انتهاي آن پديدار شده‌اند، مي‌تواند فراز و فرودهاي نثر فنّي را مشخّص كند. اين تحقيق در دو بخش نظري و كاربردي نگاشته شده است كه در بخش اوّل، ويژگيهاي نثر فنّي بررسي ميشود. شيوه نگارش اين بخش بدينگونه بوده است كه با طرح پرسشهايي، ورود به حوزه بحث انجام گرفته و با استناد به آراي پژوهشگران، اين پرسش واكاوي شده است. در بخش دوّم، برجسته‌ترين ويژگيهاي سبكي و زباني «نفثه‌المصدور» و «درّه نادره» در دو محور كلّي «نفوذ زبان و ادبيات عربي و درهم‌آميختگي فارسي و عربي» و «فراواني آرايه‌هاي ادبي و تصويرپردازيهاي شاعرانه» مقايسه شده است.

Literary research has demonstrated that Persian prose has gone through double transformations: a move from simple writing to complex writing and again from complex writing back to simple writing. In all historical periods, however, one can find traces of both simple and complex writing styles, with one of them exerting dominance in each period. A comparison of the two books Nafthah al-Masd?r and Dorah al-N?derah can unearth the developments in the field of technical prose as both these works are telling examples in this field with one emerging in the beginningand the other at the end of this era. This research is organized into two parts: theoretical and practical. The first part examines the characteristics of technical prose. It initiates the discussion by posing questions which are then answered with reference to the views of researchers. In the second part, the most prominent stylistic and linguistic features of Nafthah al-Masd?r and Dorah al-N?derahare compared with regard to two general themes: “influence of Arabic language and literature and the intermingling of Persian and Arabic” as well as “the frequency of literary devices and poetical imagery”.
