The Relationship between Firm Growth and Profitability in Tehran Stock Exchange

ارتباط متقابل بين رشد اقتصادي و سودآوري از مسايل مهم براي شر‏كت‏هاي توليدي و ارايه كننده فعاليت‏هاي صنعتي به حساب مي آيد. هدف از انجام پژوهش حاضر، بررسي چگونگي تاثير نرخ رشد فروش بر سودآوري شركت هاي پذيرفته شده در بورس اوراق بهادار طي سال‏هاي 1383 تا 1389 است. براي اين منظور در يك نمونه گيري خوشه‏اي دو مرحله‏اي، 40 شركت پذيرفته شده در بورس اوراق بهادار تهران از بين صنايع دارويي، صنايع شيميايي، صنايع غذايي بدون قند و شكر و صنايع قند و شكر انتخاب شدند و از مدل هاي خودبرگشتي پانل پويا ( GMM) براي تحليل آماري داده‏ها و آزمون فرضيه‏هاي پژوهش استفاده شد. در اين مدل، مقاطع شامل شركت هاي انتخابي در نمونه و سري زماني شامل يك دوره 7 ساله هستند. پس از جمع آوري اطلاعات جهت تحليل داده‏ها، آزمون از طريق اجراي رگرسيون تلفيقي انجام شده است. نتايج بيانگر اين است كه در شركت‏هاي پذيرفته شده در بازار بورس، متغير سهم از بازار شركت هاي بورسي تاثير مثبتي بر روند سودآوري دارد، در حاليكه افزاش نرخ رشد فروش در سال جاري و سال گذشته و اهرم بدهي رابطه معناداري با سود سال جاري ندارد.

The dynamics of sustained growth and profitability forces the corporations to find out the relationship between their growth and profitability. The main objective of the study is to evaluate the effect of companyʹs growth on profitability and the interaction between them. To achieve the purpose and following a two stage cluster sampling, 40 companies listed in Tehran stock exchange, have been selected from pharmaceutical, chemical, sugar free foods, and sugar industries for the period of 2004 to 2010. Data analysis was done by a vector auto-regression (VAR) model and using dynamic panel system GMM estimator with the help of Eviews5 software. The results showed that the market share has a positive impact on profitability, while the increased sales’ growth rate in the current year and the Past yearʹs and debt leverage have not a significant relationship with profit in the current year. Moreover, the last yearʹs profit and market share have a positive impact on the sales’ growth rate in the current year, whereas profitability and debt leverage in the current year have not a significant relationship on sales growth rate in the current year.
