روايت‌هاي شفاهي داستان گشتاسب در شاهنامه فردوسي

Oral narratives regarding the story of Goshtasb in Shahnameh

داستان سفر گشتاسب به روم و ازدواجش با كتايون قيصر در شاهنامه فردوسي، يكي از داستان‌هايي است كه با قوّت بسيار در فرهنگ شفاهي ايرانيان به حيات ادبي خويش ادامه داده است. بدرستي روشن نيست كه فردوسي اين داستان را از كدام مآخذ نقل كرده است، ولي تقريباً در تمام كتاب‌هاي تاريخ عمومي كه پس از شاهنامه به زبان فارسي نوشته شده، به اين داستان اشاره شده است. آنچه كه امروزه با روايت‌هاي گوناگون ميان اقوام ايراني در اين خصوص وجود دارد، داستاني است كه با نام كره دريايي مشهور است و در فهرست تيپ‌هاي بين‌المللي قصه‌ها با تيپ 314 طبقه‌بندي شده است. اين قصه گرچه تفاوت‌هايي با روايت شاهنامه فردوسي دارد، بسياري از ويژگي‌هاي ساختاري و معنايي آن را در خود حفظ كرده است. از آنجا كه قديم‌ترين روايت‌هاي مكتوب بين‌المللي اين قصه به قرن دوازدهم ميلادي باز مي‌گردد، روايت فردوسي را بايد مقدّم بر آنها دانست.

The story of Goshtasb’s journey to the Roman Empire and his marriage with Katayun, a Byzantine princess in Shahnameh is one of the stories that is strongly continued its literary life in the oral culture of Iranians. What has been Ferdowsi’s source to narrate this story is not clearly known however in nearly all general history books written in Farsi after shahnameh this story is present. In this regard what exists today with variety of narrations among the Iranian ethnic groups is a story called Seapony and in the international tale-type index it is classified under type 314. Although there are minor differences with the Shahnameh narrative, this story has kept many of its structural and semantic characteristics. Since the most ancient international written narratives dates back to the twelfth century, Ferdowsi’s narrative takes precedence over them.
