Restructuring the Electrical Engineering Education in the Country

برنامه آموزشي مهندسي برق در كشور قريب به بيست سال است كه دچار ركود نسبي شده و اين امر منجر به آن شده است كه ديگر اين آموزشها با فناوريهاي روز جهان هماهنگ نباشد و به علاوه، نيازهاي صنعتي و اجتماعي روز كشور را بر آورده نسازد. از اين رو، در سال 1383 كميته‌اي در دانشكده مهندسي برق دانشگاه صنعتي شريف ماموريت يافت تا بر اساس معيارهاي نوين و پويا در آموزش مهندسي برق براي يك تجديد ساختار جامع در آموزش كارشناسي مهندسي برق برنامه ريزي لازم را به عمل آورد. نقيصه موجود در آموزشهاي حاضر را به تعبيري ديگر مي‌توان اين گونه تشريح كرد كه با اين آموزشها مهندسي تربيت مي‌شود كه علم به مباني و كليات دارد و آماده كار كردن در زمينه برخي مباحث نظري و علوم است، نه لزوماً مهندسي كه بتواند پاسخگوي نيازهاي فنّي روز كشور باشد، چرخ مديريت صنعت را بچرخاند و موجب افزايش و بهبود توليد ملي در كشور شود. در اين مقاله به طور خلاصه برنامه ريزي انجام شده در اين زمينه به منظور احيا و به روز ساختن محتوا و نظام آموزشي مهندسي برق ارايه شده است.

The Electrical Engineering undergraduate educational program in the country has undergone some kind of stagnation during the past twenty years, and this has caused a mismatch between this education and the up-to-date world’s technology. In addition the existing program does not satisfy the industrial and social needs of the country in this era. This deficiency in the present educational program can lead to educating engineers who have a good knowledge about “Principles and Fundamentals” and are ready to work on theoretical and scientific subjects, while they are not ready to work as an engineer who can respond to the technological challenges of the country and to manage effectively parts of the industrial potential of the country and result in a surplus or improvement in the net national product of the country. To fulfil a thorough investigation on the subject a committee was assigned, in 2004, in the Electrical Engineering Department of Sharif University of Technology to develop a complete restructured undergraduate program in Electrical Engineering, based on the up-to-date and active measures. This paper briefly presents the developed educational program out of this task, which aims to renew and update the structure, and the content of the undergraduate educational program of the Electrical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology.
