Clinical considerations in relation to hepatitis B and C in dentistry

چكيده مقدمه: شايع‌ترين انواع هپاتيت شامل هپاتيتA ،B ، C، D، E وG مي‌باشد. هپاتيت B وC تهديدي جدي براي سلامت افراد هستند كه مشكلات روحي- رواني و شغلي را به‌دنبال مي‌آورند و از جمله بيماري‌هاي شايع منتقل شونده از بيمار به پرسنل پزشكي و برعكس و هم‌چنين منتقل شونده به خانواده‌هاي اين افراد مي‌باشند. پيشگيري از انتقال هپاتيت B و C در مراكز پزشكي مساله مهم سلامتي است. هدف از مطالعه‌ي حاضر شناخت تظاهرات دهاني هپاتيت B و C براي دندان‌پزشكان به‌منظور تشخيص، پيشگيري، هدايت و كنترل انتقال اين بيماري مي‌باشد. شرح مقاله: اين مطالعه، يك مطالعه‌ي مروري است كه از جستجو در منابع كتابخانه‌اي و پايگاه‌هاي PubMed وISI- Web of Science بين سال‌هاي 1974 تا 2013 با استفاده از كليد واژه‌هاي هپاتيت B، هپاتيت C و تدابير دندان‌پزشكي انجام شده است. نتيجه‌‌گيري: با وجود برنامه‌ها و استراتژي‌ها براي كنترل عفونت، هپاتيت هنوز در دندان‌پزشكي مشكلي جدي است. در اين مقاله تدابير دندان‌پزشكي كه در اين بيماران بايد مورد توجه قرار گيرند عنوان شده‌اند، هم‌چنين روش‌هايي جهت پيشگيري از آلوده شدن با اين ويروس‌ها و نحوه‌ي برخورد، هنگام رويارويي با بيماران ناقل ويروس و نحوه تشخيص بيماري و علايم آن ارايه شده است. كليد واژه‌ها: هپاتيت B، هپاتيت C، دندان‌پزشكي

Abstract Introduction: The most common types of hepatitis include hepatitis A, B, C, D, E and G. Hepatitis B and C are serious threats to health and result in occupational and psychological problems. Hepatitis B and C are among the most common diseases transmitted from patients to the medical personnel and vice versa and also to their families. Prevention of transmission of hepatitis B and C at medical centers is an important health issue. The aim of the present study was to explain oral manifestations of hepatitis B and C to dentists so that they can diagnose and prevent transmission of these medical conditions. Review Report: The present review study was carried out by searching the Pubmed and ISI Web of Science databases from 1974 and 2013 using the key words hepatitis B, hepatitis C and dental precautions. Conclusion: Despite plans and strategies for infection control, hepatitis is still a serious problem in dentistry. In this article dental precautions that should be considered in these patients were presented. In addition, methods to prevent infection with these viruses, the techniques used when confronting carriers of the virus, the methods of diagnosis and the symptoms were discussed.
