آنچه خواهيد خواند مقاله‌اي است در خصوص سو استفاه از قدرت كه نويسنده آن به منظور توضيح بيشتر برخي نكات تدوين كرده است. توضيحاتي در مورد مفاهيم رهبري و قدرت، مقدمه بحث را تشكيل مي‌دهند. سپس قدرت نرم، به معناي توانايي شكل دادن ترجيحات ديگران و جذب كردن آن‌ها براي تحقق اهداف مشخص، تفاوتهاي آن با قدرت سخت به معناي قدرت اجبار و وارد كردن ديگران به انجام يك كار با استفاده از سلاح يا تهديد به استفاده از آن، تعامل ميان قدرت سخت و قدرت نرم و تاثير آن‌ها بر يكديگر، محدوده اعمال قدرت نرم، محدوديت‌ها و شرايط آن و تاثير شگرف انقلاب اطلاعات بر كاربرد استفاده از قدرت سخت، مباحث اصلي هستند. در پايان نتيجه مي‌گيرد كه حتي استفاده از قدرت سخت توسط رهبران سياسي براي دستيابي به اهداف نيز مستلزم آشنايي آنان با قدرت نرم و شيوه كاربرد آن در راستاي تحقق اهداف است.

What you will read is based on a speech by Joseph S.Nye on ((Misuses of Power)) and is developed in order to explain some points addressed in that speech. It begins with some explanations about leadership and power as introduction. Then soft power, the ability to form others preferences and attracting them to realize certain goals, its differences with hard power. Using force to make others do something or applying force or threat of using arms to attain this goal; interactions between hard and soft power and their mutual effects; limits of soft power, its limitations and requirements, as well as the surprising effect of the information revolution on applications of soft and hard power, are discussed. He concludes that being familiar with soft power and its application by political leaders to achieve their goals is necessary even if they are going to use hard power to attain the goal.
