خوانش جامعه‌شناختي نمايش‌نامه‌هاي ملودي "شهر باراني" اكبر رادي و رمان "احمق" ادوارد باند

A Sociological Reading of Akbar Radi’s Melody of the Rainy City and Edward Bond’s The Fool

نويسندگان اين مقاله دو نمايش‌نامه ملودي شهر باراني اثر اكبر رادي و احمق اثر ادوارد باند را بر مبناي نقد جامعه‌شناختي و در نظرگرفتن اوضاع اقتصادي و بافت تاريخي-اجتماعي قرن بيستم ايران و قرن نوزدهم انگلستان مورد بررسي قرار داده‌اند تا نشان دهند كه اين دو نمايش‌نامه‌نويس طرز تفكر مشابهي دارند و وضعيت اقتصادي افراد را عامل مهم و تعيين كننده در شكل گيري ويژگي‌هاي انساني و رفتاري ايشان مي‌دانند. با وجود تفاوت هاي فرهنگي كه زاده زندگي در دو بافت اجتماعي متفاوت است، رادي و باند افكار و نگرش‌هاي مشترك دارند و با به تصويردرآوردن موقعيت شخصيت‌هاي نمايشي نشان مي‌دهند كه جايگاه اجتماعي افراد تا چه حد بر نحوه زندگي، طرز تفكر و روابط ايشان با ديگران تاثير مي‌گذارد.

The Melody of the Rainy City written by the renowned Iranian playwright Akbar Radi and The Fool written by the controversial British dramatist Edward Bond are discussed in the present article by drawing on sociological criticism to illustrate the similarities of these playwrights’ outlooks. Both writers are highly concerned with social injustice in the capitalist systems and believe that people’s economic situation determines their way of life, thoughts and behavior. In spite of cultural differences emerging out of living in two different social contexts, Radi and Bond share some ideas over the social problems induced by capitalism, therefore depict such problems as social inequality and the suppression of low classes by the owners of wealth and capital in capitalist societies. They also demonstrate the dependence of people’s behavior and mindset on their social status, and the functioning of ideology and different social institutions in sustaining the power of those who possess money and rule over the society.
