Evolution of Medicine and Pharmacy in the World 2 -From Jundishapur to Modern Europe and America

در حوالي سال 260 ميلادي و پس از افول علم در سرزمين هاي روم باستان و يونان، طالبان علم از سراسر دنيا و با اديان و فرهنگ هاي متفاوت در فضايي دوستانه، با تفاهم و هم انديشي در دانشگاه و بيمارستاني تازه تاسيس معروف به جندي شاپور مشغول تحصيل و تحقيق بوده اند. مدرسه جندي شاپور قديم ايران توانست به تدريج از حضور و ظرفيت علمي ده ها استاد برجسته و هزاران دانشجوي طالب علم ايراني و غير ايراني، قريب به چهارصد هزار كتاب و رساله علمي و نهصد سال درخشش و شكوفايي در زمينه علوم پزشكي و غير پزشكي بهرمند گردد. اين دانشگاه اثري ماندگار در ميراث فرهنگي ايران و جهان، و پايه گذار علم داروسازي و پزشكي در دنيا و دانشگاه جندي شاپور جديد مي باشد. در قسمت دوم اين پژوهش تاريخي اهم فعاليت هاي بيمارستان و مركز علمي معروف به جندي شاپور در عصر ميانه (Middle Age) و تاثيرپذيري ساير مدارس علمي جديدالتاسيس در اروپاي غربي و آمريكا از آن و همچنين پايه ريزي دانشگاه جديد علوم پزشكي جندي شاپور فعلي مورد كنكاش و تحليل قرار گرفته است.

Around 260 A.C. and during the dark middle ages of Europe, scholars from different religions and cultures from all around the world came together to a newly founded University and hospital known as Jundishapur for training and group thinking, in a friendly atmosphere. The old Jundishapur in Iran gained the capacity to accommodate tens of distinguish professors, thousands of scholars from Iran and other countries, four hundred thousand books and scientific thesis. The excellence in both medical and non-medical sciences was gradually developed and lasted over 900 years. It produced a permanent impression in practice of medicine and pharmaceutical sciences in Iranian cultures and the world and to give birth to Present Jundishapur University. In the second part of this historical research, the most important accomplishments of Jundishapur scientific center during the middle ages and its inflenunce on later founded scientific centers in west Europe as well as on the foundation of the new Jundishapur University will be discussed.
